How to redeem an Apple Gift Card
An Apple Gift Card adds money to your Apple Account balance, which you can spend on apps, subscriptions and more.

In short
- On iPhone and iPad, redeem in the App Store: tap your photo, then Redeem Code.
- Cards only work in the country they were bought for. The country is in the product name and must match your Apple Account.
- The money goes to your Apple Account balance.
- Apple may still ask for a card on file for some purchases, even when you pay from your balance.
How to buy on koto
- 1Pick a card for your Apple Account's country and the amount.
- 2Pay for the order.
- 3The code appears on your order page.
- 4Redeem it in the App Store as shown below.
iPhone and iPad
Open the App Store and tap your photo, initials or the My Account button. Tap Redeem Code. You can scan the card with Use Camera or tap Enter Code Manually, then follow the instructions on screen.
In some countries you can also redeem in the Wallet app, once your Apple Account card is added to Wallet.
Mac and Windows PC
On a Mac, open the App Store, click your name in the sidebar and click Redeem Code.
On Windows, open the Apple Music or Apple TV app, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and click Redeem.
Card country
Apple cards can't be redeemed outside the country they were bought in. A card bought in France, for example, won't work in the US App Store. If you see a message saying the code must be redeemed in another storefront, the card and your Apple Account are from different countries.
