Your account name is the one you sign in with, not your profile nickname: it's in the heading of the Account Details page. Funds usually arrive within 2–15 minutes.
Steam Wallet codes are issued for the USA, Europe, Poland, Mexico, South Africa and a number of Asian and Middle Eastern countries. Do you need my Steam password?
No. A top-up only needs your account name, the one you sign in with. We never ask for your password or Steam Guard code. A Steam Wallet code needs no account details at all: you redeem it yourself.
Where do I find my Steam account name?
Open Account Details in Steam: your account name is in the page heading. It's the name you sign in with, not your profile nickname. At checkout we check the name with Steam and let you know if no such account exists.
Top-up or Steam Wallet code: which should I pick?
A top-up adds funds straight to your wallet in its own currency, with nothing to redeem. A Steam Wallet code is something you redeem yourself or pass on to someone else, but it only works with a wallet whose currency matches the code region.
Which currency will a top-up arrive in?
Your Steam Wallet's own currency. The funds can be spent on games, DLC and items on Steam.
Which Steam Wallet code region should I choose?
Go by your wallet currency: it must match the code region. The region is in the product name, and the value is in that region's currency.
Is there a top-up limit?
Yes, set by Steam: in any 24 hours, the amount added to and spent from your wallet can't exceed the equivalent of US$2,000. Beyond that, Steam may delay the funds.
Can I withdraw Steam Wallet funds?
No. Under Steam's rules, wallet funds can't be cashed out, gifted or moved to another account. Add only what you plan to spend.
How long does it take?
A top-up usually takes 2–15 minutes; a Steam Wallet code usually shows up on your order page 1–15 minutes after payment. We work 24/7. If nothing arrives within an hour, contact support with your order number.
Can I top up a friend's Steam account?
Yes. Enter their account name at checkout. A Steam Wallet code can simply be passed on: just check that your friend's wallet currency matches the code region.
